Have you ever thought you couldn’t do something? Making whatever it was feel bigger than you?

Maybe it was lifting a heavier weight in the gym, or running further than you ever thought possible? Maybe you finally had that difficult conversation with someone that’s been bugging you for years?

Then - somehow, someway - you surprised yourself by doing it the very thing you thought you couldn’t do? Becoming bigger than it in the process. You know, going beyond your limits.

That’s what we help you do for your business, and your life. We help you learn how to take control of your business so you lead it, rather than it leading you.

The word ‘meta’ is Greek, and means ‘after’ or ‘beyond’.

We are meta. We help people grow beyond their limits.

Let's get started

What LinkedIn Doesn’t Tell You About Me

By David Foster 8 months ago

My name is David Foster. I love being an entrepreneur. And I know its ups and downs intimately.
You see, I’m a third generation entrepreneur with a passion for business and a track record of success.

I started my first business at the age of 10, selling sweets in the playground. I made so much profit that the business was closed down by the headmaster and I was put in charge of the school sweet shop!

I grew my first publishing company from zero to £1.2 million in revenue within 24 months.
I’ve founded several companies in the UK and in Germany, including a research company that worked with global brands.

And I’ve been a leading business consultant and coach for several years.

BUT WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME… is that I didn’t speak until I was six years old.

I was a very quiet, sensitive and shy child.

And I understood the pressures of entrepreneurship from the inside out because when I was young my dad was so busy building a business that he was barely around. My mum did her best but was constantly stressed and unhappy.

I struggled with school because I was bored. I used to clown around in lessons and I became the joker who made himself feel safe by making others laugh. I studied mechanical engineering at university and was asked to leave by the end of my first term.

I’ve been a painter, a decorator, a labourer, a junior draftsman, an estate agent, a window salesman, a ground worker, a land worker, a rose budder, a barman, live music event promoter, and even a salesman—selling designer clothes out of the back of my car.

I was once so bullied at work that I became depressed and had a breakdown. I spent 12 months in deep depression and often thought of killing myself.

I’ve been very successful in business.

But I also know what it is to chase success and be unhappy. And I know what it is to only work for the money.

I know what it is to look great on the outside, whilst being unfit, drinking and putting my marriage and under serious strain.

For much of my career, I was recreating my dad’s life without knowing it.

I almost lost everything in the recession. I racked up huge debt. I had to liquidate one of my companies and start again. I had to negotiate with creditors and banks to save my home.

My wife and I tried for a baby for several years. We’ve had four miscarriages—which I attribute to the stress we were under.

I’ve never felt pain like it. I’ve never cried like I cried at those times. I’d always longed to have a child and it felt impossible—just wasn’t meant to be.

In 2011, we had a miracle.

My first son was born.

As he lay upon my chest, only a few minutes old, I made pact there and then to stop chasing my ill-judged dream and to create a business doing something good in the world, following my passion—even though I didn’t really know what that looked like.

I didn’t want to be an unhappy dad.

I didn’t want to chase success without fulfilment.

I wanted to see my child grow up.

I wanted to be around for him.

So, I walked away from seven years of 15 hour days, excitement, sacrifice, pain, real-world experience of entrepreneurship, success, failure—because I finally listened to my intuition, my heart. It was hard, but, I felt so free!

I started from £0 and grew to a six-figure brand strategy consultancy within 12 months.

I used my real-world experience to help other entrepreneurs create businesses that give them success and fulfilment—MORE life, not LESS.

Over the years I have bounced back from setback after setback to reinvent myself. I am a master of resiliency.

If you’ve made mistakes in business, I’m there with you.

If you’ve had failures and brilliant successes, I’m there with you.

If you have so many ideas that you get paralysed, I’m there with you.

If you sometimes believe you’re no good, a fraud or a failure, I’m there with you.

If you struggle to balance career and family, I’m there with you.

If you feel under pressure to provide and feel guilty when you have time out or you treat myself, I’m there with you.

If you’ve ever wanted to end your own life and emerged back up again, I’m there with you.

If you know what it’s like to not feel enough, I’m there with you.

If you know what it’s like to put others first, and you last, I’m there with you.

If you’ve ever abandoned what you want for the sake of pleasing others, I’m there with you.

Over the years of success and struggle, I’ve built a unique set of skills blending real-world experience of entrepreneurship with years of business coaching, brand strategy, and deep coaching skills that allow me to serve entrepreneurs in an extremely powerful way.

I am currently writing the book:

I run workshops for entrepreneurs that have had people travel from over 17 countries to attend.

I have coached hundreds of business owners using a tried and tested philosophy.

I only work with a handful of clients a year. Many of my clients come by word of mouth and referral.

If you’ve read this far and you are ready to take your business to the next level AND create more time and energy for an extraordinary life, we should probably speak.

Call me.

With love, David.
